Makenna performed her solo again at the National Dance Spectacular this morning. It is the same dance she did last month at the Utah Dance Spectacular. The girls gathered around to hear the results during the Awards Ceremony.
Makenna was so happy to receive the title of Queen in the National Dance Spectacular Preschool Division. To top it off, this time the trophy is purple. She was so excited that it would match her room. That's mommy's girl. We are so proud of Makenna's hard work. She absolutely loves dance. This was definitely a wonderful Makenna day, with a solo, two team dances and a new trophy.

Have you ever seen so many Pokemon?!?!
The kids live and breathe Pokemon. This "obsession" started about 2 years ago. They have dozens of stuffed Pokemon, a plethora of plastic figurines, and hundreds of cards. When their facinations with these odd creatures began I didn't get it. Now when there are new toys on the store's shelves, I get excited. When they purchase a pack of cards, I hear myself asking (and actually curious to know) which cards they got. Being a mom has changed my world view of so many things! Who knew it would include Pokemon?

After-school activities
After school, we take Devon to karate, head over to the soccer field for Jayden, and continue on to the dance studio for Makenna. So I say, it may be a crazy life, but it's our life. Well I may have borrowed that from Jon and Kate Plus 8, but it's true. Our family has so much fun with their activities we wouldn't change a thing.

Strikers
Jayden's Strikers team won their game! Final score was 5-1.
The team played an amazing game and worked well together. This game is considered pre-season so the anticipation is building for the "true" season to start next week.
Great Job Strikers!!!

Oh, the excitement!
Here's a look at our exciting Saturday night. The kids are tucked in bed and.....oh, maybe I should edit this......it just might be too much information.....oh well here it goes.......Mattie is in his zone, studying for mid-terms. One more year from this month (and counting), until he has his MBA and we get our evenings back. We are definitely counting it down.
Soccer Saturday
We are back to our Saturday morning routine. All three of the kids play AYSO and Jayden also plays on a comp. team. I goofed when it came to taking pictures today. I remembered to take Jayden's as he was walking off the field. Makenna's as the game ended. Devon played his entire game with my camera in its bag, right next to my chair. Thankfully the fun will continue for many weeks to come. I struggle with the fact that my babies are growing up, but their games get more fun to watch with each passing year.

Espanolandia
Jayden's class practiced their Spanish while visiting Espanolandia (a simulated visit to Spain). They had different stations to visit where they went through Customs, exchanged American money for Spanish money, bought a shirt, had their picture taken, ate at an authentic Spanish restaurant, etc. Matt stayed home with Devon and Makenna (he was not feeling well), so Grammie stepped in. She went from place to place with him. I was in the kitchen dishing up the food for their yummy restaurant. This is part of what a mom does when her son has severe food allergies. You go and get the required Food Handler's permit, shop for the food, prepare food until after eleven o'clock the night before, then show up for the big event and make sure everything stays "safe" through serving time. Sounds like a lot until you're a mom and it's your baby. Then it's so worth it. I love my sweet guy who happens to be growing up way too quickly.

Encouragement
The first two karate classes of each month are family viewing days. Here is a glimpse of the encouragement and focus that Jayden and Makenna give while there. After months of doing this, Jayden always brings a book and Makenna has mastered her leg lifts while being held by Daddy.
