Fourth of July 2009

We started out the day by cheering on our friends in an all-star game.
Then we watched the local Fourth of July parade with friends.

After that it was time to cool off in the Pottenger's swimming pool.

We ended the night with fireworks.

Makenna's 7th Birthday Party

Makenna's 7th birthday party was held at a fun gymnastics center in Salt Lake City.

Syracuse Days Parade and Performance

Makenna was in the parade with her dance friends. Her brothers gathered candy from the sidelines.

After the parade, she performed in the park.

Makenna received a package from Nana and Grampa in the mail. She loved her presents and her talking card.This year for her birthday, she asked if she could go and get a manicure and pedicure with Mommy. The she wanted to go have her pictures taken. It was a great day of fun for Mommy too!

 For dinner we had all of her favorites. Chicken, tater tots, fresh pineapple and lemonade.

Arts in the Park 2009

Makenna attended Arts in the Park again this summer. She had a blast and really bonded with one of the helpers named Lexi.

Club STAR lesson on book making

 Our Club STAR lesson this week was on book making. The kids each made their own book and homemade paper.

Our babysitter got married!

Makenna and I went to Briana, our babysitter's wedding. It was crazy to think about how fast time goes. Briana started babysitting for us a month or two before turning fifteen. We saw the changes happen. First, she could start driving herself to our home. Then before we knew it, she was graduating from highschool and starting college. The next thing we know, she is on our doorstep delivering a wedding invitation. Our family is very happy for her. It's bittersweet because she no longer babysits, but she married someone who makes her radiate happiness. She has the kindest, most mellow attitude you could ever hope for in someone who cares for your children. CONGRATULATIONS BRIANA!!!

Club STAR Lesson on Flags

The first Club STAR lesson of 2009 was on flags. Here the kids were learning the correct way to fold a flag and why it's done the way that it is done.

Jayden's baseball game

Jayden played third base most of the season. From time to time they would move him to first base. Baseball is Jayden's send love, next to soccer.

Sophie's blessing day

Sophie, my niece received her blessing (my in-laws are LDS and it is tradition within the LDS church to bless the babies). Sophie's blessing was beautiful. Then we went back to their house for a yummy brunch.
