End of the school year awards ceremony for 5th and 6th graders

The last year has been a very tough, emotional year for me. I constantly worried about my kids and how my attitude has affected them. This awards ceremony touched my heart in a very personal way for me. It showed that even through tough times we can thrive and succeed. Jayden was called up for being on the honor roll through out the year, receiving the Presidential award, and as one of two kids in the 6th grade to earn the citizenship award. Devon's name was called for being on the honor roll through out the year and testing in the top 10 percent of the nation in multiple areas. I felt so proud (and relieved) to see them recognized for their accomplishments. Great job boys!!!

Jayden's "Me to We" Project

The 6th graders were all required to complete a service project by the end of the school year. Jayden and two of his friends teamed up to collect soccer gear and money for Operation Give. They organized a soccer game and charged a fee to play, which could either be soccer gear or cash. The items were then sent to Iraq where the soldiers distributed it to the local children. The fundraiser was a success all the way around. Jayden and his friends had a blast and children in Iraq were given an opportunity to play soccer.

Fourth of July 2009

We started out the day by cheering on our friends in an all-star game.
Then we watched the local Fourth of July parade with friends.

After that it was time to cool off in the Pottenger's swimming pool.

We ended the night with fireworks.

Jayden's baseball game

Jayden played third base most of the season. From time to time they would move him to first base. Baseball is Jayden's send love, next to soccer.

Last day of school party 2009

Last day of school 2009

The last day of school is bitter sweet. Yearbook signing, pictures with friends and teachers. If your in kindergarten you might even get a visit from a balloon making clown. We had another great year at our amazing charter school.

Jayden's 4th grade field trip to the Utah State Capitol

I was able to join Jayden on another field trip. This time we went to the Utah State Capitol and the Beehive House.

We rode the Front Runner to get to Salt Lake City.

We watched a live press conference while at the Capitol. Jayden and I were on Fox News together. We called Lena and she turned on the TV so Makenna could see us live.

Jayden took pictures of the inside of Utah's Capitol building...
