Fourth of July 2009

We started out the day by cheering on our friends in an all-star game.
Then we watched the local Fourth of July parade with friends.

After that it was time to cool off in the Pottenger's swimming pool.

We ended the night with fireworks.

Las Vegas Dance Spectacular 2009

Makenna and I met Nana and Grampa in Las Vegas. Grampa said watching his little grand-daughter dance brought tears to his eyes. Having Nana and Grampa there made the trip even more special. We are so glad you guys made the trip.

Makenna placed as "Second Attendant in the Intermediate Kindergarten Las Vegas Dance Spectacular competition". She struggled the most with her solo this competition. She forgot/left out three of her biggest moves. We were still thrilled with her confidence and grace as she kept going and acted as though nothing happened. Way to go Makenna!!!

Competitions and friends go hand in hand!

Makenna adores her solo teacher and has a wonderful group of friends that she dances with. As an added bonus, I have have become good friends with their moms.

Playgroup Christmas Party 2008

We had our annual soup potluck dinner.

Later, the kids enjoyed their traditional gift exchange.

This year marked our 8th annual playgroup Christmas party. As always, when I talk about my friends, I feel like expressing my gratitude to them. They love us for who we are, make every event 100% safe for Jayden, and they are a blast to be around. Thanks for helping to make the holidays so memorable for our family.

We went and watched Liz's recital

Tonight we got to attend Liz's Christmas recital. There was an added bonus. Anna and Rachel were dancing too. Makenna wrote Liz a note and gave her flowers. I think doing that excited her as much as watching the performance. Liz, Rachel and Anna were beautiful dancers.
Santa made a surprise visit at the end of Liz's recital too.

Fun at 0's 10th birthday

What a fun birthday party to attend. There was laser tag, a bounce area, the pirate's cove, and a huge rink to ride scooters around.

The laser tag vest was very heavy for Makenna. She struggled with it until the game began and then adrenaline took care of the weight.

What could be better than a Pokeball cupcake? Well, that would be an egg, milk, peanut and nut-free cupcake. Have I said how much we love and appreciate our friends?

Happy Halloween 2008!!!

Our Angel, Makenna
Indiana Devon

Indiana Jayden

We enjoyed our annual Halloween party at the Pottengers. The house was decorated, the meal was spooky, but yummy, trick or treating was fun to do with friends, and Halloween twister will only be co-ed for another year or two (LOL!). Whenever we share a holiday (or anything for that matter) with our friends we feel especially grateful for the relationships that we have. The meal was 100 percent safe, so was the dessert, and none of the kids have issue leaving all of the unsafe candy in their bags. We couldn't ask for a more supportive and loving environment. Thank you to everyone for all of the added extras that help to keep our family safe. We love you all for it!!!

Here's Mattie/Daddy Always (yes, ALWAYS) keeping things interesting!

In turn, my costume was meant to keep things interesting for Mattie. My tattooed arms, dark eyeliner, and blue streaks in my hair are dedicated to him. Happy Halloween Mattie!!!
