Devon's 3rd grade field trip to Red Butte Garden
Devon's class is studying different biomes. Today (10/27/08) his class took a field trip to Red Butte Garden. Here they were able to observe the natural biome that we live in. We hiked, examined trees and looked for wildlife. The weather was perfect! I am so glad that I am able to go with the kids on their field trips. I am also thankful that my children enjoy having me there.

Same idea, different places
Tonight the Martin family went to opposite sides of the city. Devon wanted to go see WALL-E at Weber State with Daddy. Jayden wanted to go to the school carnival with Mommy. Makenna was not sure, but ended up going with Devon in honor of his birthday. Costumes were a part of both events, but Devon didn't feel like dressing up.
Devon's 9th birthday party 10/24/08
This year for Devon's birthday, he wanted a Pokemon themed karate party. I think this party was my favorite one in all of Martin family history. His karate Master led 18 boys and girls through karate drills and numerous competitions. The kids were all so focused and into it the entire time. Then we had Fruity Pebble Rice Crispy treats (Devon's choice and super easy), a drawing for books, gave out goodie bags (they had candy and trading cards in them), and opened presents.
A note to my parents....
Happy 38th Anniversary to Mom/Nana and Dad/Grampa. Thank you for providing such a stable and loving home. 38 years is quite an accomplishment, yet you never make it seem like a challenge. We love you!!!

Makenna's field trip to the pumpkin patch 10/24/08
Makenna's kindergarten class went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch. This pumpkin patch was full of perks. There was a corn box, animals to pet and feed, a train, jump house, "hay ride", slides and a water pumping station. As if this was not enough, most of the kids got to take their first bus ride. It was a really fun start to a jam-packed day.
